A member of the Melbourne Recital Centre family since our doors opened in 2009.
In 2019, Melbourne Recital Centre celebrates 10 years of great music with our wonderful team members. Harriet Gregory began working with us before our doors officially opened in February 2009. She reflects on her time working with and for the Centre here.
I started at the Centre as one of the inaugural Stage Door staff before the opening in 2009 and immediately became fascinated with the roles of the technicians and stage managers. I’m now currently a Concert & Event Manager.
Over the years I’ve seen the Centre’s program become much more diverse – we were doing about a quarter of the number of shows we do now.
The people and culture are amazing. It’s lovely getting to know all the different personalities of the regular artists and people passing through.
You get to see artists literally gasp at the beauty of Elisabeth Murdoch Hall sometimes, which is a wonderful reminder of how inspiring this place is.
A lot of planning happens behind the scenes and in the end it’s all about the detail. When the artist finally steps on stage it’s such a thrilling moment.
