In Vogue with Michael Griffiths and Madonna

It’s Madonna’s 60th birthday on 15 August so what better way to celebrate than with a retrospective of her smart and sassy songs stripped back at the piano?

This June, Helpmann Award-winner Michael Griffiths brings his extraordinary Madonna-inspired show to the Salon. There's no accent, costume or wig, just ‘Madge’ leading you on a journey through her tough life and tender songs. Strike a pose, get into the groove and express yourself as Madonna opens her heart.

'It’s such a treat singing her greatest hits and her songs stand up to the ultimate test - the test of time. Vogue, Like A Prayer and Express Yourself all pack a punch almost 30 years later and I have some fun with lesser know favourites like Human Nature, Drowned World and Cry Baby.' Michael Griffiths

A difficult question for anyone to answer, we asked Michael to list his favourite Madonna songs of all time.

'My top 5 would have to be all from the early years as I’m shamelessly nostalgic for my youth. They all fall under Madonna’s early obsession with being able to 'dance to it'. Of course she grew up and explored darker themes in extraordinary albums like Ray of Light and American Life, both of which I love, but the early stuff is so much fun!'
